“She reframed my goal from building a 'protective shield' to empowering me to craft my own future. She’s the first coach who made me feel she’s investing in me; not as a client, but as a person.”
I met Lise through an organisation supporting women getting on boards in Switzerland. We had an intro call, then a 90-minute follow-up where she told me about Coaching in Nature. I’ve worked with many coaches before…but Lise stood out.
I wasn’t actively looking for a coach, but I was going through a lot at work and wanted to build a ‘protective shield’ for what was coming. Lise reframed it: ‘I’m more interested in crafting your future together than just defending against the bad stuff.’ That felt empowering.
Even though I got really sick right before, I went ahead. We spent one and a half days walking in nature. It was cold, raining a bit, but fine. I used to do endurance hiking and missed that brain shift from being out there. We had time to process; repeating myself helped spot patterns.
Lise was pragmatic: ‘Just do this.’ Super implementable. What made Lise special? Most coaches are cautious with boundaries; they ask great questions but don’t share thoughts. Lise doth both: asks questions and shares thoughts. I felt seen as a whole person, not just business Angie. She’s the first coach who made me feel she’s investing in me; not as a client, but as a person.
Nature helped too: a little church we ducked into, cats on the path, changing landscapes. It wired my brain differently; more curious, broader perspective. Walking side-by-side feels like friends, not coach-client.
Advice to others:
Finding the right coach is like dating; you have to try. Coaching in nature is different: more sensory, movement, time together brings new perspectives you wouldn’t get virtually. For me, Lise’s approach blended everything seamlessly.
